2 lbs of hot Italian sausage (hamburger or pork work well, too)
2 sm cans of diced green chilies (or one large can)
1 white onion, chopped
1 can of chicken broth
1 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
1 can diced tomatoes
3 cans of red beans
Anything else that sounds good at the time

This recipe is designed for a Crockpot or slow cooker:

Cook and drain the meat, add to pot. All the other stuff goes right into the crockpot.
Drain the tomatoes and the beans, add to pot. Cook on high setting for 4 hours, or low for 8 hours.
