Ingredients:  
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
4 apples
1/2 gill (= 1/2 cup) wine
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp nutmeg (extract)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add beaten eggs + milk; Beat until smooth.
Peel + core 4 large apples and cut into 4 slices.
Place slices of apples in bowl with sugar, wine + extract. C.over with plate; set aside for 2 hours.
Dip each slice in batter, fry to light brown in plenty of lard (olive oil or cooking oil is much better).

Serve. with sugar
