2 qt. strawberries
7 c. sugar
½ bottle fruit pectin

Wash and slice the berries in half lengthwise, cut large berries in quarters. Measure 4 cups berries into large saucepan, add 1 cup sugar, mix carefully and let stand 15 minutes. Add the remaining 6 cups sugar, mix well and heat to a full, rolling boil. Boil hard 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in pectin. Stir and skim alternately 5 minutes to cool slightly and prevent floating fruit. Ladle into hot, sterilized glasses, seal with paraffin. Makes 10 (6 oz.) glasses.
