Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 t soda
3/4 t salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 t vanilla
2 eggs
2 T milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the flour, soda and salt. Cream together the butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs and milk and blend the flour mixture in. Divide in 1/2 and chill for one hour or overnight. Flour surface and rolling pin and sprinkle dough with flour before cutting out into the shapes you want. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes or until cookies have a matte finish. Cool completely and then frost with favorite icing and decorate. One batch goes by quickly, I would recommend doubling the recipe.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This is the most wonderful sugar cookie, so soft and yummy! I also recommend using 1 cup of Blue Bonnet margarine instead of the butter and shortening. I always use a cream cheese frosting to complete the cookies. Number of cookies depends on how large your cutters are.
