1 medium onion, chopped fine
½ teaspoon pepper
2 eggs
1 bottle (12 ounces) Heinz chili sauce
3 tablespoons grape jelly or jam

Directions:
Mix salt, garlic powder, bread crumbs, onion, pepper, and eggs with ground beef until well blended. Set aside. Pour chili sauce into a 4-quart saucepan. Stir in grape jelly and bring to a boil. Shape meat mixture into 1-inch diameter balls and drop into saucepan, stirring from time to time to coat meatballs with sauce. Cover pan and continue to simmer on top of stove for 35 to 40 minutes. Serve in a chafing dish (to keep the meatballs warm) with toothpicks.

Personal Notes:
The flavor gets better if you prepare this the day before. Be sure to have crackers or sourdough bread rounds handy as your guests will gobble up the sauce as quickly as the meatballs.
