1.Prawns( small size)- 1 kg
2.Coriander -1 cup
3.Dry red chillies- 10 nos
4.Black pepper seeds- 1 Tbsp
5. Jeera- 1 Tbsp

Directions:
Soak ingredients no 2 to no 4 in water for 10 to 20 minutes, drain and crush them coarsely ( preferably by hand pounding). Add this to the peeled prawns.Add some curry leaves,thinly sliced 1 inch piece of ginger.,6 no’s of crushed unpeeled garlic cloves, 6 no’s of coarsely sliced shallots, 2 or 3 pieces of Cocum ( kudampuli),,1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, and salt. Add some water and cook until half done. Remove from fire. Now heat a Kadak and pour adequate quantity of coconut oil.Add 3 or 4 cloves of coarsely crushed garlic .Add 1 tsp of red chilly flakes, 1/2 tsp of black pepper powder and a few curry leaves. Fry these for 1 or 2 minutes and then add the half cooked prawns. Stir fry until the prawns are cooked fully and the colour starts to turn dark. Remove from fire and serve hot with rice ,kachiya moru ( butter milk) and red fish curry .

This is a mouth watering preparation of Adukkala Amma of Aymanam. Best cooked with ‘ Thelli chemmeen’.If using large size prawns, cut them to smaller size.
