2 c. sugar
1 c. creamed butter
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. sour milk (add a bit of vinegar to regular milk)
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
enough flour to make soft dough (4-5 c.)
Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients and form into long rolls. Wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate until ready to use. Roll out whatever amount you want to use, cut out shapes with cookie cutters, place on cookie sheet and bake at 400º 8-9 minutes or until very slightly browned.

These were the base for decorated Christmas cookies -- if the dough lasted long enough to actually bake. Long before the warning about eating raw eggs, we were consuming as much dough as baked cookies.
