Asparagus Cheese Strata Recipe

1½ lbs Fresh Asparagus cut into 2" pieces
3 T Butter, melted
1 loaf Sliced Bread, crusts removed
¾ cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
2 cups fully cooked ham, diced
6 Eggs
3 cups Milk
2 tsp Dried Minced Onions
½ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Dry Mustard

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, cover Asparagus with water. Cover and cook until just tender. Drain and set aside. Brush butter on one side of bread slices and place half of bread buttered side up in a greased 9"x13" baking dish. Sprinkle with ½ cup cheese. Layer with asparagus and ham. Cover with remaining bread, buttered side up. In a bowl, lightly beat eggs. Add milk, onion, salt, & mustard. Pour mix over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake, uncovered, @ 325º for 50 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and return to the oven for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
