1 pkg active dry yeast
¾ c. warm water (115ºF)
¼ c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2¼ c. bread flour
1 lg. egg
¼ c. (½ stick) butter, softened

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350º.
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Let stand for 10 minutes or until bubbles form. In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture with the sugar, salt and 1 cup of the flour. Beat thoroughly for 2 minutes. Add the egg and butter. Then gradually beat in the remaining flour until smooth. Drop the dough into 12 muffin cups. Bake until the tops of the rolls are a nice golden brown, 10 minutes. Remove the bread from the pan and cool on a wire rack or windowsill. The bread can be stored in a sealed plastic bag and remain fresh for 3 to 4 days. These rolls do not freeze well. Serve hot out of the oven. Makes 12 rolls.
