Buttermilk Brownies Recipe

2 C Flour
2 C Sugar
4 Tbs. Cocoa
1 C Water
1/2 C Butter
1/2 Oil
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 C Buttermilk
1 tsp Baking Soda
Chopped nuts - optional sprinkle on frosting

Frosting:
1/4 C Butter, melted
2 T Cocoa
1/4 C Buttermilk
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1 bag of Powder Sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Measure buttermilk and stir in baking soda and let set to expand. In a bowl mix dry ingredients flour, sugar, cocoa. Boil together water, oleo, oil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix together. Then mix in eggs and vanilla and last add the buttermilk mixture. Pour in a jelly roll pan that has been greased.

Frosting;
Blend butter, cocoa, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in powder sugar till it thickens to spreading consistency for frosting.

Chopped nuts are optional for sprinkling over frosting.

Tips: Buttermilk can be make by adding 1 tsp of white vinegar to 1 cup of milk.
