¾ c. Shortening
1 ½ c. Brown Sugar
2 Eggs, beaten
¼ c. Milk
2 ¼ c. Flour
¾ tsp. Baking Soda
¾ tsp. Salt
¼ tsp. Cloves
¼ tsp. Allspice
½ tsp. Cinnamon
1 c. Raisins
1 c. Nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together flour, soda, salt & spices. Cream shortening with the brown sugar. To that blend in eggs & milk. Stir in dry ingredients. Add raisins and nuts. Spread in 18" X 12" baking sheet. Bake at 350º - 375º for 35 minutes.

Frost with:
1 ½ c. sifted powder sugar
2 tbsp. softened butter
Enough milk or cream to make a spreading consistency
Could add grated lemon or orange rind for flavor
