Rinse the squid and pat dry with a paper towel. Toss with a bit of olive oil. Clean and oil the grill. Grill over high heat for 2 - 4 minutes each side or until edges are slightly charred. In the meantime, in a small saute pan heat olive oil til ripples begin to form. Add the red pepper and garlic stir for a few seconds and take off the heat. Divide squid on 4 appetizer plates and drizzle some of the olive oil over the squid. Squeeze some lemon and top with parsley.

Personal Notes:
Make plans to go to Nazaré one day. This Portuguese fishing and beach town has the typical ocean side stores selling t-shirts and Portuguese chotskies. Summertime, people cram onto the sand enjoying the sun and cool westerlies. But that's not why thousands come, even in the off-season.

Breath-taking views, monster surfing waves, lively night-life and seaside restaurants serving the freshest of seafood are the reasons tourists flock here. Not to mention the pilgrims drawn to my favorite of all Marian shrines.

When there, try this dish. One bite and you're back on the beach, drinking cold Vinho Verde. Have some baby clams or pica pau at one of their cliff top cafes. Talk your best girl into wearing a sun dress to watch the sun set, have some more wine.........excuse me..........I'm having a moment............talk among yourselves.
