cup shortening
cup white sugar
cup brown sugar
1 egg, beaten well
1 cup flour
tsp. salt
tsp. baking soda
cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. (6 oz.) chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 375F

Cream shortening in large bowl. Add sugars gradually and cream until color is light. Add egg and mix thoroughly. Sift flour another bowl, add salt and baking soda. Sift again and divide into two parts. Add flour to shortening bowl in two parts and mix well. Stir in walnuts, chocolate chips and vanilla. Drop batter from a tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheetd then divide into two bowls about 2 inches apart.
