4 Tbsp unsalted butter
1 medium sweet or yellow onion, minced
1 clove of garlic, minced
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper
1 pint of fresh raw oysters, liquid reserved
2 cups whole milk
2 cups half & half
Salt and fresh ground pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan, melt 2 Tbsp over medium high heat.
Sauté the onions and garlic, stirring occasionally. The onion should be daft and translucent. (3 - 4 minutes)
Add salt and pepper, to taste.
Add the oysters in their juices and cook just until the oysters look opaque and the edges start to curl.
Reduce the heat to medium and add the milk and half & half to the pan.
Cut the remaining 2 Tbsp of butter into two pieces and add to the pan.
Stir, so the butter melts - DO NOT BOIL.
Remove pan from heat.
Add salt and pepper to adjust taste.
Serve with crackers
