Notes: Try Americolor Soft Gel Paste in Electric Green. Food coloring tends to make chocolate seize (stiffen quickly) which is why gel paste is suggested....or oil-based food coloring called Candy Colors. For this recipe, the condensed milk added to melted chocolate before adding food coloring makes it so regular food coloring may be used without causing chocolate to seize.
Hearts can be added after fudge is chilled using a dab of light corn syrup to attach it to fudge. Fudge freezes well and can be kept frozen for 6 months. Do not add hearts if freezing --- add them after you defrost fudge.
