1½ C shortening (I use butter flavored)
2 C white sugar
½ C molasses
2 eggs
4 C all-purpose flour
4 teas baking soda
2 teas ground cinnamon
1 teas ground cloves
1 teas ground ginger
1 teas salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Melt the shortening in a large pan on the stove, and cool. (not sure if u need to do this)
2. Add sugar, eggs, & molasses, beat well.
3. In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together & add to the pan. Mix well & chill 3 hrs or overnight.
4. Form into walnut-size balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place on a greased cookie sheet about 2 inches
apart.
5. Bake at 375ºF for 8-10 minutes
6. Store in an airtight container. If they lose their softness, restore it by placing one fresh slice of bread in
container for a few hours or overnight & they will be soft again!
