Chocolate Cream Frosting

1 c sugar
2 eggs
2 Tb butter (original used lard), softened

1 c sour cream

2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
2 Tb cocoa

1/2 c hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Grease and flour 8" x 12" baking dish.

In bowl cream sugar, eggs and butter. Beat in sour cream.

In a separate bowl combine flour , baking soda, baking powder and cocoa.

Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture.
Stir in hot water. Mix well and pour into baking dish.

Bake 30-40 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

1 egg
1/4 c softened butter
1/4 c cocoa
1/4 tsp salt

3 Tbsp hot water

Cream icing sugar, egg and butter together. Add cocoa and salt and hot water.

Beat until creamy.

This is David's favorite chocolate cake that his mom would make. The recipe is from Grandma Roth.
They didn't have toothpicks back then so mom would just press her finger on the top to check for doneness.
