2 c. All-purpose Flour
1 Tbsp. Baking Powder
½ tsp. Salt
1 Tbsp. Shortening
⅔ c. Lukewarm Water
Honey or Cinnamon and sugar mixture

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until it resembles cornmeal. Add water gradually, stirring with a fork. Turn onto a floured surface. Knead into a smooth ball. Divide in half. Let stand for 10 minutes. Roll each half into 12 X 10 inch rectangle. Cut into 2½ inch squares. Do not Errol or patch dough. Fry a few at a time in a deep fat until golden brown at 400º. Remove from fat and place on a paper towel. Sprinkle with Cinnamon- sugar mixture or serve with honey.
