Seriously no recipe exists for mom's green beans.
She used home canned beans (blue lakes) if she had them.
If you do not I suggest Delmonte blue lake green beans. Mother could be
very specific in brands of canned foods.
I don't know why, but I swear those in the large cans taste better that the
regular 14.5 ounce cans.

She would always drain the beans and add fresh water when she put them in a pan to cook. She would add a little onion and cook them a while. I would say 30 minutes. At this point
add some bacon grease (approximately a teaspoon per 2 cups
of beans) and salt and pepper to taste.
Simmer 30 minutes and add additional seasoning to taste if needed.

Too much bacon grease or salt will ruin the taste so start out slow and only add more if necessary.
