1 c. sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
tsp salt
1 c. ripe bananas, mashed
1 c. walnuts, chopped.
5 tbsp sour milk (If no sour milk, add 1 tbsp vinegar to 4 tbsp of milk)
tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix milk and soda; add to mixture. Add sifted flour, salt and baking powder. Add walnuts (if using) Stir in bananas with a spoon. Pour into 2 small, greased loaf pans or 1 large loaf pan. Bake 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in middle of the banana bread.
