"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

1 tbsp cinnamon

butter for griddle or skillet

Beat eggs and add milk and spices.

Heat 1 tbsp butter on a griddle or large skillet for each batch of french toast made.

Dip bread slices in egg/milk mixture and fry on each side.

Serve with warm syrup.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The basics of French Toast are pretty well known, but making it with sourdough just makes it better. Try to get the firmest, sourest sourdough bread you can find to get the fullness of taste that nicely offsets the sweetness of the syrup.

Don't worry if you make too much; it freezes well to warm up on another day.
