¾ c. shortening, soft
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
½ c. granulated sugar
1 egg
¼ c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. soda
3 c. oats, uncooked
Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, sugars, egg, and vanilla together until creamy. Sift together flour, salt, and soda; add to creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated moderate oven ( 350º) for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes.
