1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp. vinegar (white or apple cider)
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1 cup chocolate chips - optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease an 8X4 inch loaf pan.

In a mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl and mix. In a cup mix milk and vinegar. Let stand for five minutes to sour the milk. Add flour mixture and sour milk to butter mixture and mix in bananas. Beat well. Add chocolate chips if desired and mix.

Pour batter into pan. Bake for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean when tested in center of loaf.
