1 1/2 cups white cornmeal, self rising
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup buttermilk
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce

Directions:
Directions:
In medium bowl mix all dray ingredients. Stir in buttermilk, egg and Tabasco. Drop by tablespoons into hot oil that has been heated to 375º in deep fryer. Fry until light golden brown - about 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Makes about 20 hush puppies.
