Gram's Spritz Cookies Recipe

1 Cup Butter
½ Cup granulated sugar
2 ¼ Cup of All Purpose Flour
¼ teaspoon Salt
1 egg
¼ teaspoon Vanilla
*Optional Food color
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400ºF

Mix the butter and sugar together until creamy.
(Using a electric mixer is easier, beat on medium for 2 minutes)

Stir in the flour, salt, egg, and vanilla.

Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 5 to 8 minutes or until the bottom is a nice golden color.

Gram's used to make these using an old fashioned metal cookie press. Some of my favorite memories was helping her make cookies during Christmas time.
