Ingredients:  
cup shortening
1 cup sugar, less 2T (beat together)

2 eggs
cup red food coloring
2 tsp cocoa

Directions:
Directions:
Add to above mixture, alternating with 2 cups, plus 2T flour, 1 cup buttermilk, 1t salt, 1tsp soda, 1 tsp vinegar.

Beat well. Bake in 2-9" pans at 350 for 30 minutes. Let cool. Remove from pans and split each layer
