Juice from one can of tart cherries


1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1/8 teaspoon salt

2 tlbs butter
1 tlbs lemon juice

Directions:

Bake at 350º until crust if golden brown.

Mix this dry ingredients together before adding the cherry juice:
1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons flour
1/8 teaspoon salt

Bring to a boil until thick. Add
2 tlbs butter
1 tlbs lemon juice

add cherries from can

Pour into prepared pie crust (make your own or purchase from the market) add top crust making several slits on top.

This is called Mom's Cherry Pie recipe because she made a cherry pie every year for my birthday. I think this began when I was 9 or 10, I really don't remember. However, I remember getting the pit every single time. I bit down very carefully with each bite knowing I would hit it and sure enough, I did!!
