1 c. shortening (half butter)
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 beaten eggs
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. sifted enriched flour
2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars and vanilla. Add eggs; beat thoroughly. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture.
Form into tiny balls. Roll into granulated sugar; place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with back of a fork to make crisscrosses. Dough may also be rolled and cut, if desired.
Bake in moderate oven (375º) for 10 minutes.
Makes 5½ dozen.
