• Butter
• Salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
2. Wash chicken pieces, soak for awhile in salted water, drain.
3. Butter a casserole dish (or Dutch oven) that has a cover.
4. Put dry rice in bottom of casserole (amount you use depends on how much you want! 1 cup dry rice will make about 3 cups cooked rice. This amount is what I use for 1 – 1 ½ chickens.
5. Sprinkle about 1 teas salt over rice. Lay chicken pieces on top of rice.
6. Dot chicken with pieces of butter or margarine and salt lightly.
7. Use 3 times as much water as rice (Example – 1 cup rice and 3 cups water.)
8. Cover; bake in 300 degree oven for 2 – 2 ½ hours.
