Applesauce Bread Pudding Recipe

5 cups soft bread crumbs
3 cups scalded milk
1 cup applesauce
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp vanilla

Combine bread crumbs and milk in a large bowl.
Mix until crumbs are thoroughly soaked.
Add remaining ingredients, mix well.
Spoon into a greased 2 qt. baking dish.
Bake at 325 for 1 1/2 hours, or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean.
