Blackberry Cobbler Recipe

1 cup of Sugar
1 cup of Milk
¼ cup of Butter
2 tsp Baking Powder
1½ cup of flour
½ tsp Salt
1 cup Sugar
1 quart of fresh BlackBerries
1 cup boiling water
1 quart of Vanilla Ice Cream

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º

Cream together in a standing mixer the butter, sugar, and milk on low medium speed.
Mix together the flour, baking powder and salt and slowly add to the wet mixture. Pour in the 9x13 pan.

Boil the water in a sauce pan and mix together with the blackberries and the last cup of sugar.
Pour this mixture over the batter in the pan.

Bake for 35 minutes until brown and blackberries are bubbling.

This recipe has been in our family for years. I made this in the summer time as a kid after picking berries in the woods. It is absolutely fabulous with Vanilla Ice Cream. Simple, but a keeper for sure. Enjoy!
