1 Cup Uncooked Oatmeal
1½ Cups Boiling Water
½ tsp. Salt
1 Stick or ½ C. Margarine
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Cups White Sugar
2 Eggs
1½ Cups Flower
1 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Vanilla

Topping:
¾ Stick margarine or butter
1 Cup Brown Sugar
5 tbsp. Evaporated Milk
1 Cup Coconut
½ Cup Chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix oatmeal and water together and let stand for a few minutes. Add remaining ingredients to the oatmeal. Pour batter into a greased 9x13 pan Bake at 350º for 40 to 45 minutes.

For topping: Melt Butter and mix well with brown sugar. Add evaporated milk, coconut, and nuts. Spread on hot cake & place under broiler until brown. Watch so it does not burn.
