Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 lb Italian sausage
1-2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
I-2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp dried basil
salt and pepper
Red wine (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown Italian sausage, remove excess grease from pan. Add crushed garlic, tomato sauce, 1/2 can water or wine, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, basil, and salt/pepper to taste. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer. Add additional water or wine to obtain desired thickness as it cooks. The longer it simmers, the more the flavor comes together. Sometimes I will saute mushrooms or onions and add them to the sauce. Serve over cooked pasta of your choice with parmesan cheese.

Personal Notes:
I created this recipe in college and would make a single serving by taking a 1/4 lb hamburger instead of the Italian sausage and 1/2 can of an 8 ounce can of tomato sauce. All the spices can be adjusted according to taste.
