Ingredients:  
14 to 16 large cucumbers
Syrup: one quart apple cider vinegar, 8 cups sugar, package pickling spice, two rounded tablespoons pickling salt.

Directions:
Directions:
Pour fresh boiling water over cucumbers each morning for four days and allow them to soak.
On the 5th day, cut into chunks or thick slices.
Bring syrup:to a boil and pour over cukes.
Repeat for three days (drain cukes; bring syrup to boil and pour over cukes to soak)
On the last day, bring syrup to a boil and add cukes, bring back to boil.
pack pint jars with boiling hot pickles and seal.
