1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp water
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1-1/2 cups quick cooking oats
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup flaked coconut or 1-1/4 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar well, stir in beaten egg. Add water and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, and salt and add to mixture. Add oats and then nuts and coconut. Bake on greased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for 10 - 15 minutes.
