1 c. butter softened
⅔ c. sugar
2 t. vanilla
2 eggs
3 c. flour, sifted
½ t, salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Add sugar gradually. Stir in vanilla. Add eggs one at a time beating well between each addition. Stir in flour and salt. Chill 2 hours. Roll out ¼ of chilled dough to ⅛" thick on a floured surface. Cut into desired shapes and place on a baking sheet with a spatula. Bake about 10 minutes at 350º F. Cool on rack. Decorate with frosting.
