8oz. Mushrooms
1 t. chopped Onion
1/2 pint Sour Cream
Bread (crusts removed)
2 T. Butter
1/2 t. Thyme
1/4. t. Lemon Juice
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F.
Saute the mushrooms in butter.
Add onion and cook until tender.
Remove from heat and add the rest of the ingredients (except the bread).
Stir the mushroom mixture and set aside.
Butter the bread slices on one side.
Put the buttered side of the bread down and spread mushroom sauce.
Top with another slide of bread (buttered side out), making a sandwich.
Depending on the size of the bread, cut into bite-sized sandwiches.
Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

From the Mom Moore Family Cookbook. The original recipe calls for Pepperidge Farm thin sliced bread and makes these 'sandwiches'. We have also made the mushroom topping and served on top of sliced Italian bread.
