2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 boiling milk

Icing:
5 tbsp. melted buter
9 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. cream
1/2 c. coconut or chopped nuts (optional)

Cake:
Beat eggs, gradually adding sugar. Stir in vanilla. Sift salt, baking powder, and flour and add next, beating well. Scald milk and add butter, allowing it to melt into milk. Add last and beat well. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. (I use an 8" square pan.)

Icing:
Mix together, pour over cake, and brown under broiler (watch closely!).
