1 lb bag of pinto beans (pick though and make sure there are no rocks)
1 Box Beef Broth
1-2 Ham Hocks (depending on how meaty they are)
1 Carrot (takes the gas out of the beans)

After cooking but before serving
1 Medium Onion, diced
2 Tomatoes, chopped
2 Tablespoons Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Put beans in a crock pot. Add Broth. If needed, add water to cover beans and to make liquid a little over the beans. Add one whole carrot. Cook 8-12 hours on low until beans are soft. Add more water if needed to keep the beans covered in liquid.

After cooking:
In a skillet, melt butter. Sauté the onion and tomato together until soft. Add to beans.
Discard the carrot. Pick the meat off the ham hock. Throw away the bones and skin of the ham. Eat and enjoy the beans.
