1 blind-baked 9" pie crust
6 tablespoons melted butter
3 large eggs
1 cup dark brown sugar
¾ cup light Karo Syrup
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 cup Pecan pieces, toasted (toast while the oven is preheating, 5 to 7 minutes

Blind bake one 9" pie shell
Preheat oven to 300º
Bake 50 minutes

Beat the eggs until light and fluffy; add cooled, melted butter; add sugar and beat until fully combined; add Karo, salt, and vanilla. Beat 2 or 3 minutes, until well blended.

Stir in pecans until coated.

Pour into the pie crust; arrange pecans until it is sufficiently decorative.

Pecan pie was always one of the desserts offered on Thanksgiving and Christmas at both the Powers' home in Texas, and at the Lee's house in Wyoming. This recipe was the one my mother devised after much experimentation.
