3¾ c (1 lb box) Confectioners Sugar
½ c (1 stick) Butter, softened
3 to 4 tbsp Milk
1 tsp Vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Combine Sugar, Butter, Milk, & Vanilla, in large mixing bowl.
Beat with electric mixer, low speed to combine ingredients.
Beat at medium speed 1 to 2 minutes, until creamy.
If desired, add more milk until frosting is spreading consistency.


FLAVOR VARIATIONS:
Peanut Butter--substitute Peanut Butter for Butter.
Chocolate--add ⅓ c unsweetened Cocoa Powder, adding Milk one tsp at a time until desired consistency.
Orange--substitute Fresh Orange Juice for Milk, add 1 tsp Orange Extract & 1 tsp grated orange zest.
Lemon--substitute Fresh Lemon Juice for Milk, add 1 tsp Lemon Extract, & 1 tsp grated lemon zest.

Frosts 6dz cookies; 2-layer cake; 13x9x2-in cake; 24 cupcakes

When used on Old Fashioned Tea Cakes, leave iced cookies in single layer, until frosting is dry & set. If desired, color with food coloring prior to icing cookies (it only takes 2-3 drops of food coloring).
