1½ c. sugar
1½ c. white corn syrup
¼ c. water
paraffin wax (size of thumb)
3 c. raw peanuts
1½ tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients (except nuts) bring to high heat to slow boil. Add nuts and turn down heat. Cook slow till nuts pop and are a light golden brown. (Hard crack stage on candy thermometer.) Remove from heat add 1½ tsp. baking soda. Beat 2-3 minutes. Pour onto chilled buttered baking pans (or lined with parchment paper instead of buttered). When cooled break into candy-size pieces. Can be frozen in plastic cartons.
