½ c. butter
½ c. shortening
1- 3 oz. cream cheese, softened
1½ c. sugar
1 egg
2 T. milk
½ tsp. vanilla
2- 1 oz. sq. unsweetened chocolate, melted ( can substitute with 2 T. butter melted with 6 T cocoa.)
2¼ c. flour
1½ tsp. baking powder
½ c. chopped nuts

Frosting:
1 lb. powered sugar, 3½ - 4 cups unsifted
½ c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Milk for spreading consistency

Directions:

Thoroughly cream butter, shortening, cream cheese, and sugar. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Stir in cooled melted chocolate. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to 1st mixture. Stir in nuts. (0ptional) Drop on greased cookie sheet or lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350º for 12-15 min. Remove from pans immediately when done onto racks.

Frosting:
Combine pwd. sugar, butter and vanilla. Beat. Add milk a tsp at a time until it is of spreading consistency.
Frost cooled cookies.
