* 1¾ cups flour
* 1 tsp baking soda
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
* 1/4 cup butter
* 1/4 cup shortening
* 1 egg
* 1 tsp vanilla extract
* 1/2 cup peanut butter
* 36 to 48 milk chocolate kisses

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together sugars, butter, shortening, peanut butter, vanilla and eggs, stir in flour and soda. Shape dough into balls using a small cookie scoop. Roll balls in additional granulated sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets 2 inches apart. Bake in 350º for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven and top each hot cookie with a chocolate kiss. Press down slightly. Recipe makes about 3 1/2 dozen cookies.

* This is a family favorite at Christmas time, I usually make 3 times the recipe.
