3 c. sugar
1 c. milk
3 eggs (well beaten)
1 1/2 c. shortening (Crisco)
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
Flour

Add enough flour to make stiff enough to roll (approx. 4 to 6 cups)

Roll out dough and use cookie cutters to make whatever shape you want.

Bake on greased cookie sheets at 350 degrees until just slightly brown on bottom.

I first made these when I was 13. I found the recipe in a box of recipes my mother had. Her recipe did not have flour so I had to just figure out how much flour to add.


The dough freezes well. My mom's dad (Papa) always loved to eat the dough raw.
