Cream well the following:

2 cups sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 cup shortening

Beat in 5 egg yolks, alternately add:

2 cups of flour
1 cup buttermilk

Add: 1 tsp soda
1 can Angel Flake coconut


Directions:
Directions:
Beat 5 egg whites and fold into flour mixture.

Bake at 350º for 25 minutes. Makes 3 - 9" layers.

1 - 8 oz pkg soft cream cheese
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 cup chopped nuts, chopped
1 stick butter, softened
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Beat cream cheese and butter. Add powdered sugar and beat until fluffy. Add vanilla.

Spread between layers and on outside of cooled cake.
