1 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp salt
2-1/2 cups flour

Frosting
¾ cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon margarine
1 tablespoon milk
½ tsp vanilla
¼ tsp lemon juice
Directions:
Directions:
Cream together: 1 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
Beat in: 1 egg
Add: 1 tsp vanilla
½ tsp salt
2-1/2 cups flour

Mix until all ingredients are well blended. Chill dough 3-4 hours before rolling.
Preheat oven to 350º. Roll out and cut. Bake about 8 – 10 minutes or until barely colored.

Frosting
Melt butter, combine all ingredients and beat until smooth. Add food coloring if desired. Yield 1/3 cup frosting.
