1½ cups sugar
⅓ cup cold water
2 egg whites
¼ tsp cream of tartar OR 2 tsp light corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In the top of a double boiler, combine sugar, water, egg whites, and cream of tartar. Beat on low speed for 30 seconds. Place over boiling water. Cook, beating constantly, on high speed for about 7 minutes, or til frosting forms stiff peaks. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Beat 2-3 minutes more until it's spreading consistency.
