Chilli Con Carne Recipe

1 lb of ground meat
4 strips of bacon
1 onion chopped
1 green pepper chopped
1 red pepper chopped
1 banana pepper chopped
2 stalks of celery chopped
3 cloves of garlic chopped
2 cups of mushrooms chopped
1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
1 can of red beans
1 can of black beans
3 cups of beef broth
1/2 tsp of ground cumin
1/2 tsp of basil
1/2 tsp oregano,
1/2 tsp parsley,
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
3 tsp of chilli powder
pepper to taste

Chop bacon and fry until crispy, set aside.
Cook ground meat, onion, garlic, spices and herbs until meat is browned and onions are cooked.
Add tomatoes, bacon and broth. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour.
Add beans and mushrooms and cook for an additional hour.
Use your favorite toppings when serving... cheese, pepper, sour cream etc.
