Scald milk. Stir in sugar, salt and butter. Let cool to warm and stir in beaten eggs

Sprinkle yeast over water in very large bowl. Stir until dissolved. Stir in lukewarm milk misture and beat until smooth. Gradually add sifted flour, stirring after 4 cups have been added. Mix and knead by hand for 10 minutesor until dough does not stick to hands. Turn dough into buttered bowl and let rise, covered, for 1 hour in a warm place, such as a slightly warm oven.

Turn dough out onto floured board. Roll out 1/2 of dough into 9 x 18 inch rectangles. Spread with 2 tablespoons of the softened butter. Mix sugar, cinnamon, and chopped nuts, sprinkle 1/2 the mixture evenly on the buttered rectangle. Roll up tightly beginning at the wide side. Seal well, pinching edges of roll together.
